2. Learn to Play Dominós

Join us as we celebrate the rich and vibrant culture of Latinos in our country during Hispanic Heritage Month. More details will be added as decided.
5. Veteran's Day Salute
Date: Wednesday, November 11th, 10:00 am
Location: Social Hall, VDS Clubhouse
Join us as we acknowledge and pay tribute to the many veterans that have served our country. More details will be provided soon.
6. Neighborhood Paranda
Date: Wednesday, December 30, 2026 (dusk)
Location: Will meet at the VDS Bistro for a toast
A parranda (also known as an asalto or trulla) is a Latino vibrant, high-energy version of Christmas caroling. Groups of family and friends gather late at night, surprise neighbors at their homes with lively folk music, and are subsequently invited inside for food, drinks, and extended celebrations. Don't worry, we will not be surprising you!!!
7. Kwanzaa Community Celebration

Kwanzaa is an annual, non-religious cultural holiday celebrated from December 26 to January 1 that honors African American and Pan-African heritage. The name is derived from the Swahili phrase "matunda ya kwanza," which means "first fruits," and refers to historical, community-based harvest celebrations found throughout Africa.
The holiday was established in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga as a way to reaffirm African culture, unite the community, and provide a path of cultural self-determination.
